FAQ
I have two vehicles — do I need to buy a permit for each car?
No. You will be able to register multiple vehicles under the same permit at no extra cost, as long as only one vehicle is parked on campus at a time. You can switch between vehicles in your online account.
What is being done to improve parking lot conditions?
Improvements Completed (2025)
- Rectory Lane and Hillcrest lots were professionally regraded and compacted with gravel in fall 2025 to improve surface conditions.
- The new Lansdowne Street lot opened in August 2025, adding 158 parking spaces.
Planned Improvements (2026)
- Paving of the Lansdowne Street lot (158 spaces)
- Paving of the Rectory Lane lot (71 spaces)
These upgrades will increase the number of paved spaces to 539 (92%). Paving improves lot conditions, makes snow removal and maintenance more efficient, and allows for more precise line painting and optimized layout.
How will paid parking impact the availability of parking spaces on campus?
It is expected that moving to paid parking will encourage those who live close to campus will not park on campus, thus decreasing demand. While purchasing a parking permit does not guarantee a specific parking space, the overall number of available spots is sufficient to meet daily usage, with the highest demand occurring in the fall term. Because vehicles come and go throughout the day, a single parking space may be used by multiple vehicles depending on schedules and campus traffic patterns.
Will parking be enforced 24/7, including weekends?
Parking enforcement depends on the time of day and applies during the academic year (September–April).
- Overnight (12 a.m.–6 a.m.):

Monitored every night, including weekends. Overnight parking is limited to Overnight permit holders. - Weekdays (6 a.m.–6 p.m.):

Monitored Monday–Friday for General, Designated, and Carpooling permits.
 - Evenings (6 p.m.–11:59 p.m.) and Weekends (6 a.m.–6 p.m.):

Not actively monitored during lower-demand periods.
Examples:
- If you have a General Permit and stay parked until 7:30 p.m., you will not receive a ticket.
- If you are a guest attending a theatre performance between 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., you will not receive a ticket.
These changes — including reduced evening and weekend monitoring — were made in response to community feedback to make parking more flexible while still managing demand during busy times.
How will I be able to purchase a parking permit?
Students, faculty, and staff can purchase parking permits online through ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½'s .

Parking permits are non-refundable. Please choose the parking permit that best suits your needs. Parking fees are managed separately from tuition and must be paid through the Security office or the online parking website. We offer various payment methods to make the process convenient, including credit, debit, and online payment.

A reminder that a new parking lot on Lansdowne Street has recently opened, providing another option for permit holders. While we strive to provide sufficient parking for all permit holders, availability may vary during peak times. We recommend arriving early, especially during high-demand periods (9 a.m.–1 p.m.), to increase the likelihood of finding a spot.
I require accessible parking, where can I park?
If you require accessible parking, a parking permit will still be required. Additionally, if you have a valid accessible parking permit issued by the province, you can park in any of the designated accessible parking spaces available across campus upon coordination with the People and Culture department.
